Gloria Spottswood, CDM, CFPP, was truly cooking at 6 years old, stirring a pot of beans on a wood stove, as
her grandmother lay sick.  At 15 years old, she embarked on a Culinary Arts vocational program, and
graduated with a 2-year Certificate, and 3 -1st place trophies she won from Marriott cooking contests.  She
continued in her chosen career and graduated college with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in
Hotel/Restaurant/Institutioinal Management/Food Services.  

Her love, passion, dedication and desire has kept her in the hospitality and food services industries careers for
40 years, with 30 of those years in management (Directorships) positions; and always with the goal of providing
the very best in services and customer relations to a host of clients, customers, patrons and guests.  Her
career includes industry giants such as the Department of Agriculture-Food and Nutrition Services, Alexandria
City Public Schools Food Services, Marriott, Raddison, Days Inn, retirement and nursing homes, and

In 2001, she returned to college to earned a B+ in Web Page Design.  She continued to earn credentials  
becoming a nationally registered Food Safety Trainer with the renowned association NEHA.  She also earned  
her CDM, CFPP credentials from ANFP (formerly DMA).  She has held her Food Handling Managers' license
since 1979.  

Her career path allowed her to meet many people who wanted to plan their own events...and do their own
